More Than Support. A Community.
The Post Care was created to make sure mothers who have experienced birth trauma do not have to navigate what comes next alone.
It began with a simple hope.
In May 2024, our founder set out to connect with women who had experienced birth trauma — to create small, honest spaces where mothers could support one another through coffee dates, play dates, walks, and real conversations about what they were carrying.
By March and April, that spark had grown into something bigger. The idea of forming dedicated support groups for women who had experienced traumatic births took hold, along with a desire to create more opportunities for mothers to gather, share, and receive support in community with one another.
“No mother should have to navigate what comes next alone.”
In July, The Post Care officially began. What started as informal meet-ups grew into support groups for women navigating birth trauma, postpartum care and gifts for mothers in need, monthly events for moms and families, and workshops focused on birth trauma awareness, healing, and support.
Behind the scenes, there were many months of figuring out the right direction — weighing whether to form an LLC, a PLLC, or a 501(c)(3) — and ultimately deciding that a nonprofit structure made the most sense for the community this work was meant to serve.
The Post Care exists today because of the people who helped make it possible. It was created from a desire to make sure women feel supported, cared for, and less alone after traumatic birth experiences — and that remains at the heart of everything we do.

Our Mission
The Post Care exists to support mothers who have experienced birth trauma through connection, community, education, resources, and compassionate support — so that no mother has to navigate the journey after a difficult birth alone.
Building a Village of Support
The Post Care is growing beyond a single support group. We are working toward a broader community ecosystem — one that meets mothers and families where they are, with connection, resources, and care. As a growing nonprofit, new programs and initiatives will be added over time.

- Community gatherings
- Mom meet-ups
- Educational workshops
- Resources and referrals
- Community partnerships

Why This Work Matters
A mother's need for support rarely ends when her baby is born. For many women, the weeks, months, and even years that follow a difficult or traumatic birth can be some of the most isolating of their lives. The Post Care focuses on creating connection, resources, community, and spaces where mothers can feel seen and supported — not just in the immediate aftermath, but throughout the journey of healing.
